  1. Acts 9:11 Street called Straight: one of the oldest streets in the world. In Paul’s time, Damascus was laid out in the form of a rectangle intersected by “straight” streets. The longest of them all was the “Street called Straight.”
  2. Acts 9:13 Saints: so named because Christians are consecrated to Christ, the Holy One (Acts 3:14). The word recurs in verses 32 and 41. See also note on Rom 1:7.
